Certificat de Préposé au Tir (CPT)

Since 1977, EPC-France, a subsidiary of EPC Groupe, has offered training courses focused on blasting, notably courses leading to the Certificat de Préposé au Tir (CPT) (Blasting engineer’s Certificate).

The CPT is a diploma issued by the Ministry of Education following an examination. This training concerns all persons who, in the course of their work, perform functions involving the use of civil industrial explosives and the conducting of blasting work.

The CPT, which confers official “blasting engineer” status, enables trainees to acquire theoretical and practical knowledge in the blasting field.

Every year EPC-France organises around fifteen preparatory courses for the CPT examination in its various regional entities.

Eight options provide theoretical and practical knowledge in specific fields of blasting: underground work, underwater work, mountain blasting for triggering of avalanches, hot mass blasting, low energy explosives, safety fuses, bulk loading with equipment using energy and priming by electronic devices.

To meet the specific needs of our activities more effectively, and guarantee the full protection of our personnel, EPC Groupe defines training as one of its priorities.

The training of our employees is undertaken internally by trained and competent trainers. The Group also provides numerous training courses for a wide range of customers in activities as varied as quarrying, drilling and blasting, civil engineering and specialised works.

Our training courses allow acquisition of technical knowledge to be achieved jointly with increased Quality / Prevention awareness. These courses are taught by people working in the field, in most cases on our own operations.

EPC Groupe offers advice, training and technical support in the areas of safety, quality and the environment. Among other things, we train employees and supervisory staff in drilling and blasting activities, operation of machinery, occupational first aid, fire-fighting, working at heights, waste treatment, etc.

For over 30 years. EPC-France has been recognised as an official training organisation issuing a state diploma. More than one hundred training course are conducted each year:

• Annual refresher courses
• Advanced training courses on the themes of vibrations and blasting pattern design

EPC-FRANCE works with major Engineering Schools in continuous professional training. Again with the aim of allowing employees to improve their skills internally, but also to provide optimum service to our customers, the B.A.D.G.E. (Bilan d’Aptitude Délivré par les Grandes Ecoles) in "Blasting with Explosives" enables experienced technicians and engineers to perfect their knowledge in the field of mining through a training process leading to a diploma.
