Activities Drilling and Blasting

Developed to complement our range of services, drilling and blasting now represents around 40 % of EPC Groupe’s total activity and involves some 20 companies across Europe, Africa and the Middle East.

Whether supplied as an independent service or integrated in a global blasting service, drilling and blasting is a fundamental link in the production chain of the construction site, mine or quarry.

Its adaptation to the specific conditions of the site and to the operation’s objectives requires both a capability for mobilising resource and strong technical expertise.

For more than 15 years, EPC Groupe’s specialised subsidiaries have been proving their ability to take up the challenges of a profession in which performance is the key to success.

Today, EPC Groupe is the biggest integrated drilling/blasting and global service operator in Europe.

Special Blasting Works

Through its “special blasting works” unit, EPC Groupe provides specialised resources, techniques and know-how to complex projects and high-tech operations.

Difficult access reinforcement work

The aim of this type of work is to protect people and property against the natural risks presented by unstable rock formations.

The complexity of this work lies not only in the natural environment in which it is performed but also in the difficulty of access for men and equipment.

The personnel performing this type of work are highly qualified and specifically trained. They simultaneously master the techniques of rope work, drilling in extreme conditions and protection system installation.

Rock and construction of rock bolting

This is an example of the use of support techniques to stabilise geologically sensitive zones.

This reinforcement work in a wide variety of soils demands optimum control of risks and hazards in demand to comply with quality and safety requirements.

The techniques used to counteract landslides and terrain erosion allows the subsequent construction activities such as: soil nailing, construction of diaphragm walls, grouting, installing of active or passive tie-rods, concrete spraying, construction of micropiles, terrain injection for consolidation, repair of civil engineering structures, construction of breast walls and ditches in sprayed concrete, etc.
