The EPC Groupe has just signed two major contracts in the mining sector. These two contracts confirm the success of the strategy followed by the group, which intends to use its excellent international network to strengthen its position in this rapidly growing sector.
• The first contract was signed in Sweden in December 2011 by EPC Sverige with Dannemora Magnetite AB, a company which has taken over operation of the Dannemora iron mine on the East coast of Sweden. This contract, which includes on-site supply of explosives and blasting accessories, was signed for five years and represents expected total sales of 120 million Swedish kroner.
• The second contract was signed in Guinea in January 2012 by EPC Guinée with Bellzone. This three-year contract renewable for an additional two-year period concerns a complete service of mining and supply pf explosives and blasting accessories for the Forécariah iron mine. Over the three-year period, the contract represents expected total sales of 12 million US dollars.
These two new contracts follow the five-year renewal in June 2011 of the contract with the Compagnie des Bauxites de Guinée for the Sangarédi mine (estimated to be worth 50 million US dollars). They reflect customers’ confidence in the EPC Groupe’s teams and their desire to commit themselves to a long-term partnership with a leading supplier.
